Thales London Underground SSL Bid- Operational impact assessment

Short Circuit Analysis Tool (SCAT) System.

Saudi Rail Authority - Assisting in the creation of a new regulatory body for Saudi Railways. Principally involved in the design and specification of the Business Management System for the new organisation.

Metallic Waste Recycling System.

Performance Modelling - Provided a series of bespoke scripts (converted into Windows applications) for data migration, validation and input into RailSys performance simulation.

Performance modelling for comparison of signalling systems for ERTMS levels 1,2 and 3 as well as CelTrack.

Work undertaken for a variety of clients including London Underground (Tubelines), Thales and Queensland Rail.

Network Rail

January 2005 to February 2006

Responsible for the delivery and acceptance of numerous rail projects to both internal and external clients. Major projects included the Pilot South West Main Line Route Utilisation Strategy and numerous new station developments, franchise bid evaluations and timetable enhancements.

Part of the Wessex Route Strategy Planning Group overseeing investment and prioritisation of schemes for that area of the network (civils, comms, performance, enhancements).

In addition to project involvement, Ian also wrote the mandatory simulation standards for the UK and designed, implemented and delivered a three month training programme enabling Network Rail to implement the standards both internally and externally.

RWA Rail

January 2000 to January 2005

Reporting directly to the Director and was responsible for simulation modelling within the company. He performed a 12 month analysis of the Capacity Management Suite of applications for Railtrack, developed by AEA Technology Rail, providing a fitness for purpose evaluation, developmental roadmap and systems testing.

Was also part of the OPBI and OPBC (Operation Planning Business Improvement / Change) programmes providing analysis of appropriate modelling tools for use within Railtrack now and over a five year road map.

Seconded to Network Rail Strategic Access Planning department for 18 months to test and impliment the RailSys performance modelling tool.
